The Way We See it: embedded photography

Seen at Cool Hunting, a recent exhibit is currently working outside of the typical photojournalist perspective and giving cameras to 30 women in the impoverished and dangerous post-quake Haiti.

From The Way We See it:

Spearheaded by Abby Goldberg of Digital Democracy, the program started with the mission of shedding light on the issue of gender-based violence, which has become increasingly prevalent in the camp lifestyle resulting from the 2010 natural disaster.

The imagery of these pictures are surprisingly well-shot and composed. The show will be running for a single night, with all proceeds heading right back to the original women photographers. Check out Cool Hunting for a gallery.
